Andrew is chairman of the Fairport group of companies and established Fairport Containers in 1993.  He has worked to build up a loyal, knowledgeable and hardworking team of staff who underpin a customer-focussed and standards-driven company and still plays an active role in the business, which is close to his heart.

Steve Collinson

Steve became MD of Fairport Containers in 2007, after starting with the group as an apprentice steel fabricator in 1976.  His impressive length of service with the firm has ensured a knowledge of clients and procedures which is second-to-none.

As well as overseeing the day-to-day running of the firm, Steve is responsible for health and safety regulations, buying and selling stock, developing business opportunities and is the main point of contact for clients.

David, son of chairman Andrew Porter, is in charge of new business development for the Fairport group. 

After achieving a BA (Hons) in Business Management, David gained a broad range of business experience abroad, working in Asia and Australia, as well as holding senior roles in the property development, road haulage and waste industries in the UK.  He began working with Fairport Containers in 2011 and is working to develop and grow the business further.

 

Richard Ellison

Works Manager

Richard has worked at Fairport Containers since its foundation in 1993 when he began as a forklift driver.  During his time with the company he has worked in various roles and now knows both the firm and the industry inside out.

As works manager, Richard is responsible for a host of duties including HR, implementation of health and safety rules and overseeing production and transport.

 

Ben Johnson

As Sales Assistant, Ben spends a lot of time on the road, travelling between our Lancashire head office, our Aston Clinton depot, and our new third depot in Bridgwater.  Much of Ben’s role involves visiting both existing and potential customers and explaining how our products and service can help improve their business and save them money.

Ben has years of experience working in sales and has also spent time on our shop floor – gaining first-hand experience of our unique in-house refurbishment process.

Melissa Gee

Recycling Bank Co-ordinator

Melissa is responsible for the daily logistics planning for our recycling bank services and will generally be the first point of contact for our recycling bank customers.  As well as working to maintain and enhance customer relationships, Melissa’s role involves planning and developing new business ideas for Fairport Containers.

Thanks to nine years’ experience working as a transport supervisor, Melissa has a thorough knowledge of the UK and issues affecting logistics planning, enabling her to do a first class job.

CHAYA FERNANDO

SALES AND ONLINE ACCOUNT MANAGER

Chaya joined the Fairport Containers team as sales and online account manager in September 2014.

Chaya is one of our main sales contacts for many of our key accounts and is focused on managing our website and driving sales through our online store.

Her previous experience working as an account manager for an online business helps Chaya ensure essential support is provided to all of our clients.

Naomi Hurst

Office Supervisor

As office supervisor, Naomi is one of the main points of contact for clients telephoning Fairport Containers.

Naomi began working with the company in 2008 and is also responsible for payroll, generating financial reports and office administration.

 

Mel Altham

Works supervisor

Mel has been with Fairport Containers more than 13 years and has worked his way through a number of positions to become works supervisor.  Mel is responsible for health and safety and first aid and oversees quality procedures in the fabrication shop.

Jimmy Cain

Works Supervisor

Jimmy has been with the company since it was founded 20 years ago and has built up a working knowledge of his specialisms which is second-to-none.  As well as being trained in first aid and health and safety practices, Jimmy is in charge of quality control in Fairport Containers' paint shop.

Stacey Canavan

Clerical Assistant

Stacey joined the Fairport Containers team in 2012 to offer clerical and administration support.  She is responsible for various administrative roles within the company, working closely with office supervisor Naomi.  She is also a regular point of contact with customers on the telephone.
